What we collect, why we collect it, and who else sees it.

Who we are

MyCampusHire is a platform on which students invite companies to run placement drives at their own college. In this policy “we” means the team operating mycampushire.org, and “you” means anyone using it. You can reach us at contact@mycampushire.org.

For a plainer answer to “who will see my resume”, read data safety instead. It describes the same behaviour without the legal register.

What we collect

Only what a step in the product needs.

  • Your email address, when you sign in. This is the only thing required to have an account.
  • Your name, phone number, branch, semester and graduating year, when you invite a company or add your resume to an invitation.
  • Your college, and a link to your resume, for the same reason.
  • Which invitations you opened, joined, or were approved for.
  • Ordinary server logs — an IP address and a timestamp against a sign-in attempt, kept so that codes cannot be brute-forced.

We do not store a password, because there is none. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell anything to anyone.

Why we collect it

  • To let you sign in without a password.
  • To build the case we put to a company: which college, how many students, what they study.
  • To let the student coordinating an invitation see who has joined it and approve them.
  • To tell you what happened to an invitation you are part of.

Who we share it with

Companies. If a company agrees to consider a drive at your college, we send them the college's details and the approved students' names and resume links. Nothing is sent about students who were not approved, or who withdrew.

The student coordinating an invitation. They see the name, branch and semester of everyone who joins. They do not see resume links, email addresses or phone numbers.

Anyone on the internet. A college page shows which companies have been invited, the coordinating student's name, branch, semester and batch, and a count of approved resumes. Nothing else about a student is public.

Service providers. Our database is hosted with Amazon Web Services, and sign-in emails are sent through Zoho ZeptoMail. Both process data on our instructions and neither is permitted to use it for anything else.

How long we keep it

  • Sign-in codes: ten minutes live, and the used rows are cleared after seven days.
  • Your account and profile: until you ask us to delete it.
  • An invitation and its pool: until the drive happens or the invitation is closed, and then kept as a record so a second attempt at the same company does not start from nothing.

Your rights

Write to us from the address on your account and we will, within thirty days: send you a copy of everything we hold about you; correct anything wrong; or delete all of it. Deleting removes you from every pool. If you coordinate an invitation, we will hand it to another student at your college or close it rather than leave it without an owner.

You can also withdraw from any single invitation yourself, at any time, from your dashboard.

Children

This is a service for students in higher education. It is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and note the date at the top. Where a change materially affects data you have already given us, we will email you before it takes effect.

Something here unclear, or want your data removed? Write to contact@mycampushire.org and a person will read it.
