About the role

The broadest of the openings and the joint best paid: PHP and MySQL on one side, Node, PostgreSQL, React and Next.js on the other. Six months across the whole lifecycle — design it, build it, deploy it, then keep it running, which is the part that teaches you what you should have built.

What you will be doing

• Write clean, maintainable PHP and work with the product team on what customers get
• Take features through the full lifecycle: design, development, deployment, maintenance
• Write code that is delivered on time and optimised for the scale it will meet
• Make changes that matter to the codebase rather than working around it
• Troubleshoot application and code issues
• Update and rework existing features where performance calls for it

Who can apply

• Available to work remotely for the full six months
• Able to start between 31 August and 5 October 2026
• Reading for a computer science engineering degree
• Comfortable across a back end and a front end — the stack here spans both
• Previous web projects or coursework, and a portfolio or code samples, are an advantage
